The USGA Most Improved Player Report computes the most improved player in a league by using the USGA's recommended formula for calculating the most improved player.  The formula works as follows:

• Add 12 (add 6 if using 9-Hole Handicap Indexes) to the player's Handicap Index at the start of the month. This is value A. 

• Add 12 (add 6 if using 9 hole indexes) to the player's Handicap Index at the end of the month. This is value B. 

• Divide value A by value B, calculating to three decimal places. This is the improvement factor.

The player with the highest improvement factor receives the most improved player of the month recognition.  This acknowledgement will be made only to those members who play fairly regularly on the club's official Tuesday play days.
